Synthesis and screening of homogeneous catalysts:

Whether a chemical synthesis has to be performed in the early stages of the discovery process or during the optimization phase, Chemspeed’s selection of synthesizers (ISYNTH, SYNTHESIZER SLT II, SWAVE) automate complete synthesis and screening workflows:

  • reagent preparation (liquids and solids)
  • multistep liquid phase or solid phase synthesis of ligands and / or organometallics with optional pressure capabilities and microwave heating
  • workup, purification and analysis
  • performance screening in flexible MTP formats (CATSCREEN 96) and / or double-jacket array reactors (SYNTHESIZER CATTEST)  for e.g. hydrogenation, carbonylation,...

Process research of homogeneous catalysts:

Designed for the optimization of synthesis and performance parameters (time, temperature, pressure, mixing, concentrations, …), the semi-automated MULTIPLANT CATTEST and the fully automated AUTOPLANT  CATTEST workstations are based on the use of individually controlled, high-precision tank reactors which are fully scaleable. The ability to systematically study reaction conditions allows chemists to rapidly evaluate new routes, optimize synthesis conditions, and / or prepare sufficient quantities of a particular compound for further studies.


Synthesis and screening of heterogeneous catalysts:

Supported catalysts are typically prepared by impregnation and tethered immobilization.

  • ISYNTH CATIMPREG automates the incipient wetness, excessive liquid, vacuum impregnation of powders and extrudates, preserving the support's integrity

  • AUTOPLANT PRECIP is a tailor-made, automated platform for the preparation of (mixed) oxides, including multiple metal salt solution and slurry feeds, pH-controlled precipitation, washing, filtration and drying.
  • AUTOPLANT ZEO is a tailor-made, automated platform for the preparation of zeolites (templates and / or seeds), including washing, filtration and drying.

Formulation of heterogeneous catalysts:

Designed for the formulation / blending of solid, liquid, and / or viscous materials, the SWING MIXINGPOSSIBLE is a fully automated workstation to gravimetrically add solids, liquids, and viscous liquids in conjunction with Chemspeed’s speed mixing. In case of heterogeneous catalysts the unrivaled gravimetric substance handling is combined with highly efficient speed mixing & ball milling.
