Visit us at Swiss Summer School 2021: Catalysis and Sustainable Chemistry.
The Swiss Summer Schools, also referred to as Villars Summer Schools, are multi-day out of town courses for MSc, PhD and postdoctoral students with a focus on chemical synthesis. They offer a platform to students for the scientific exchange with peers and with experts in the field from academia and industry. Students are welcome to actively involve themselves by presenting a poster or a short communication on their research.
Visit us at SCS Fall Meeting 2021.
The SCS Fall Meeting 2020, one of the largest annual research conferences was held in Switzerland. For generations of young chemists educated in Switzerland, the Fall Meeting has been a great platform to present their research –often for the first time ever at a major conference- and to be inspired by the people one gets to meet.
Visit us at Virtual European Coatings Show Conference.
Innovation never stands still We live in extraordinary times. Yet, despite the adverse conditions, innovation refuses to stand still and continues to seek solutions to the daily challenges facing the coatings industry. Extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures:
For the first time, the ECS Conference is being held in a digital format, with international coatings experts brought together on a virtual platform. The Conference can be attended by anyone, regardless of their travel budget or location.
Visit us at SEPAWA® CONGRESS 2021.
COVID-19 remains a global challenge in 2021. Mutations, rising incidences, travel restrictions, possibly restrictions on participants and concern for everyone’s health do not allow for safe planning. Due to the uncertainties and unpredictable future developments, the board of SEPAWA® e.V. has decided to hold the SEPAWA® CONGRESS 2021 exclusively on a virtual basis.
Visit us at ILMAC 2021 – Symposium „Artificial Intelligence and Digitalization“.
Since 1959, ILMAC has been the sole Swiss industry fair for chemicals and life sciences that depicts all the industrial applications in process and laboratory technology. As a user-oriented trade fair, ILMAC is geared to experts in pharmaceuticals, chemicals, biotechnology, food, drinks, cosmetics and others (see illustration below). Despite this wide range of sectors, ILMAC is still of particularly manageable proportions (it can be visited in a single day), is close to hand (staged in the midst of the pharmaceutical and chemical industries) and depicts the Swiss market in its entirety.

Developing products of any kind often happens in iterative cycles. For example, small molecule drugs emerge from numerous cycles of Lead Optimization, looping many times through molecule design, synthesis, and bio-activity measurements. Automating this cycle could significantly accelerate this cycle, hence there is an increasing drive to build platforms to this end.
At a 2019 workshop on Closed-Loop Make-Test-Design Platforms for Drug Discovery and Lead Optimization, the task to efficiently feed such platforms with chemical building blocks was identified as a challenge. The principles of such Closed-Loop platforms will be introduced, and the sample management specific questions discussed.
